Overview & Primary Functionality
The Algo 8301 is a PoE‑powered SIP 3rd‑party endpoint that emulates a traditional page‑port found on a legacy PBX, allowing easy VoIP integration with analog paging systems.
It delivers a dry, isolated, balanced line‑level output (via mini‑XLR or terminal block) compatible with amplifiers requiring 600 Ω to 10 kΩ input impedance—eliminating hum and noise.
Audio & Paging
- Supports wideband G.722 codec and G.711 A/u‑law for crystal‑clear paging audio.
- Offers two SIP extension types:
- Page extension for auto‑answer voice paging
- Ring (alert) extension to play pre‑recorded WAV files without answering the call
- Supports up to 10 ring/alert extensions and 50 page zones, each with separate extensions if desired.
Multicast & Scaling
- Functions as both a multicast Master or Slave:
- Master registers with SIP and broadcasts audio;
- Slaves passively receive multicast streams.
- Scalable to any size deployment—no hard limit on devices or endpoints per zone.
- Supports Polycom Group Paging (on‑premise)—optimally syncing announcements across Polycom phones and Algo endpoints.
Scheduler & Announcements
- Includes a built‑in bell/tone/announcement scheduler—connects to NTP to automate playback on defined dates and times via web‑based calendar interface.
- You can upload custom WAV files into 1 GB onboard memory or use included tones.
- Supports relay input trigger (e.g. external call button) for live announcements or emergency playback.
Configuration & Interface
- Setup via web browser UI (default login user “algo”), with easily configurable SIP settings, multicast, scheduler, and zone management.
- Compatible with central provisioning (TFTP/FTP/HTTP) via DHCP Option 66—ideal for large rollouts.
